Our Story

Discover the heartwarming story behind Nonna Candles. Learn how our love for simple comforts and natural ingredients blossomed into a mission to bring you clean, toxin-free candles made with heart.

From a love for candles to a need for clean air

Nonna Candles began with something simple: my love for candles. I’ve always adored the way a soft flame and a comforting scent could turn any room into a place of peace. But as much as I loved lighting candles, my home told a different story. I have family members with allergies and asthma, and every time I burned a store-bought candle, I noticed the sneezing, the tight chest, the headaches. The things meant to bring us comfort were quietly making our home uncomfortable.

The journey to natural ingredients

I started digging deeper and discovered what most people never realize—many candles release toxins into the air, especially those made with paraffin wax, synthetic fragrances, and metal-core wicks. That was the moment everything changed. I needed a way to enjoy the warmth and beauty of candles without risking my family’s health. So I began experimenting in my kitchen, determined to create something safer. I researched natural ingredients, tested endless batches, and slowly found my path. Pure beeswax, wood wicks, and non-toxic scents became the heart of what I made. Not only did they burn cleaner, but they filled my home with a gentle, natural aroma that didn’t trigger allergies or asthma. My family could breathe easier—and I could love my candles again.

Nonna candle: a promise of purity

What started as a search for safety turned into a passion, and that passion grew into Nonna Candles. Today, every candle I pour carries the same promise I made to myself back then: to bring warmth, comfort, and beauty into your home without compromise. Our decorative candles follow the same philosophy—crafted with all-natural soy wax and finished with a beeswax wick, so even the prettiest candles remain pure.

"Nonna Candles isn’t just a business to me; it’s a piece of my heart. It’s a reminder that the things we love shouldn’t harm the people we love. And now, I’m honored to share that comfort and peace with you—one clean, natural candle at a time."
